HANNELORE is a music project by Berlin-based artists Catherine Lorent and Tom Früchtl, who create a high-energy soundscape using guitar, drums, and vocals, defying all artistic conventions and good manners. Those who have experienced their performance believe in the goodness of every turning point in time. (from the Kulturpalast announcement, Berlin) Hannelore plays spontaneous compositions that develop in the moment of performance, drawing from various musical styles and experimenting with the structures of metal. Bossa Nova rhythms emerge on the drums, contrasted by deep and heavy guitar riffs, or harmonies from the jazz world that culminate in metal staccatos. Catherine Lorent‘s voice shifts from a warm female alto in pop to a rock belter, jazz singing, and even the growls of death metal.
